A career in event planning may not have been down a direct path, but organizing people and events always came naturally. Beginning her career in LA, she has coordinated and designed events and weddings in California, Las Vegas, Austin, and Chicago. Upon returning to STL, she co-owned Lucky You Productions, an event coordination and floral design firm. She later joined the team at @cesandjudys doing everything from sales, event management, and marketing. Her designs and creativity have been featured in numerous magazines, websites, and television broadcasts.

Fun facts: She shares her life with her babies and traveling the world as much as possible. She also owns over 40 shades of red lipstick.
Brittany Cummins Brittany Cummins - President Elect
Brittany has ten years of industry experience in meeting and event planning. A native St. Louisan, Brittany graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Entertainment Management. She sits on the St. Louis Chapter Board of Directors for the International Live Events Association (ILEA). Brittany is also involved in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Missouri. Brittany and her husband Jeff and her 2 children live in St. Charles.

Fun Fact: Brittany is a new mom, as of July 2019.
Courtney Mummert Courtney Mummert - VP of Programs
Courtney is the Event Coordinator for Russo's Catering. Courtney has been a member of ILEA for three years. This is her third term on the board. Last year she served as the Director of VP of Program and the year before was Director of Programs. Courtney has worked at Russo's for 4 years. She helps plan full service catered events and most of her work is done for off premise venues. Courtney graduated from Missouri State University with a degree in Entertainment Management. Helping clients plan their special day brings her a great deal of happiness! Fun fact about Courtney: I am getting married next week and excited to enjoy my honeymoon in Jamaica! In her free time, you can find Courtney hanging out with friends at country concerts, snapping pictures of her adventures, playing with her adorable goldendoodle, Colvie or hanging out with the family! She is especially excited to be on the ILEA board with her sister, Brittany Cummins.
Rachel Brueggeman

Rachel Brueggeman - Director of Programs
Rachel attended Saint Louis University and graduated with a degree in Hospitality Management. She carried a lot of titles during my career in the hospitality field, but the wedding industry has a special place in my heart. I am the current Assistant General Manager of the Main Street Abbey a beautiful venue just outside of St. Louis - where she oversees the day to day operations, production, and event execution. 

Starting out in the event industry, Rachel spent my time learning all things food and beverage as an Event Manager with one of the most reputable catering companies in the St. Louis area -  executed over three hundred  beautiful events and worked under the best of the best within the industry. My desire she and experience led me to receive a Sales management position in which she was able to develop further relationships and gain more exposure executing high end corporate events and over the top celebrations. Rachel love this industry and feel so blessed for the opportunities she has been given to advance my career and continue my passion for all things events.

Matt Sanders

Matt Sanders - VP of Communications
If you need someone to help you plan the lighting/visual part of your event, he is your man for the job! He recently graduated from St. Louis Community College - Forest Park with his AAS in Hospitality/Tourism Management and Event Planning Certification. Matt's secret obsessions are cooking, interior decoration, and shopping for vintage/thrift finds. At 23 years old, Matt is the youngest board member on the 2018-2019 board. He already has 2 years of experience in the event industry, had 2 internships, went to culinary school, and worked 2.5 years in the restaurant industry. That is a lot of experience! To top it all off, he recently proposed to his boyfriend of 3 years in May of last year.

Stephanie Johnson

Stephanie has been a member of ILEA for 2 years. She has been with Connie Duglin Linen for two and a half years as the Account Executive for the St. Louis Division which encompasses all of Missouri, and parts of Illinois, Oklahoma, and Kansas. She’s obsessed with helping clients design the perfect tablescapes for their stunning events, introducing new collections, keeping up with current color, texture, and pattern trends, and networking with her industry peers as a member of ABC, MPI, and ILEA!
A random fact: Stephanie enjoys spending time with family and friends, drinking craft beer, and photographing the world around her.

Cheryl Haney

Cheryl Haney - VP of Membership
Cheryl has been infusing event creativity and industry leadership into the St. Louis marketplace for over 30 years. Cheryl has been an ILEA member for 18 years and this will be her 6th term on The St. Louis ILEA Board.  She is committed to the event planning profession and has built her career portfolio to include 10 years in country club management,  10 years as The Director of Catering and Events for Anheuser Busch and for the past 12 years Cheryl has been The Director of Possibilities with The Aries Company.  Aries has allowed Cheryl time to give back to the industry, as well as her community.  She does so as an adjunct professor in The Hospitality Management Program at Forest Park Community College and other event volunteer positions when she can.  Cheryl is very active in her community and is a co-chair for Webster Groves High School’s Spirit Wear Program.  If you ask her what she does for a living she would tell you she gets paid to build industry relationships and support event logistics with rental management.  She is happily over programed and a mother of two first and foremost. Fun Fact – Cheryl and her husband Todd own and operate Re/Max Premiere Realty.  Her weakness is cheese!

Angie Weigel

Angie Weigel - Director at Large / Louie Awards and Special Projects
With 30 years in the hospitality industry, Angie brings her expertise to the day to day management of Destination St. Louis. She joined the company as a Program Coordinator in 1999 and worked her way up to President in 2016. In January 2018, Angie became the second owner when she purchased the company from original owner & founder Julie Greenspoon. With a passion for the hospitality industry and a love for St. Louis, Angie began her career as a teenager working on the sightseeing riverboats showcasing the Mighty Mississippi and grew up in the industry. Never saying ‘no’ to a new challenge, Angie has gained experience in many facets of the industry including sales, operations, catering, event planning and crisis management. Angie is also active in the local hospitality industry. She has been on the board of directors for the International Live Events Association (ILEA) St. Louis Chapter for 5 years and has been a passionate member of the association for nearly 20 years. Angie is a St. Louis native and lives in Sunset Hills with her husband and their two boys.
